Watercolor Vintage Leaves
I am part of a regional team and we host a group on FB called Maryland Stampers. Every other week we have a Sketch and there is a prize for the best card. I am in charge of sending out the prize and this was my card for the winner this week. I have been following Mimi A La Carte lately and want to learn to stamp like she does. Here is my first attempt.
Stamp into the Old Olive Ink Pad then mist with water.
Stamp on Watercolor paper.
Stamp colors you wish to use on leaf on the largest clear block.
I picked up yellow with my aqua painter and started coloring over the green out to the edges. I then went back in mixed a little of the yellow with the red on my block and painted almost to the edge the onto the edge. I then painted the tips red.
I then went back to my stamp that was already inked from my first pressing and placed it over the leaf to pick up some of the original lines.
I then applied yellow in the back ground and flicked on flecks of Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.
For the final touch I went in with Wink of Stella and traced the veins of the leaf.
Add your thread, assemble your card, and stamp greeting. Then you have a wonderful card of encouragement for someone.
